Once I've decided on a project, I'll usually spend a few days just compiling reference images before sitting down to build. I'll then then take thick card stock and start constructing a rough over-all shape. then, slowly over time, I'll add things here and there not unlike one would do when painting a picture. The piece constantly grows and changes, and even I don't truly know what it will be in the end.
“One of my favorite things from my high school architectural drafting and design course was making scale models of finished designs. When I expressed my desire to make scale models over drafting, my teacher told me that it was impossible and not a real occupation. This was a wall of creative oppression I was determined to overcome!”
