MiniWorld Mobilizes to Catch A Thief!

Small sleuths in the miniatures world have noticed that retail and social media site My Tiny Objects (Instagram: @mytinyobjects) is using images without authorization or credit and selling miniatures which make it appear as though they are hand made by them!

One image posted on their website (which has since been taken down) is a well-known image of a miniatures tool chest created by Bill Robertson and offered at $29.99 (Horrors!).

The miniatures world is not having it. Facebook posts are being shared widely alerting folks to beware of any purchases at this site.

So Beware and don't purchase from My Tiny Objects and report to sites like Facebook, PayPal, Stripe and Instagram.

Miniature Book Brought to Full Scale!

An original story printed in a miniature book created for the Queen Mary's Dollhouse was published (in full size!) for the first time since it was written 90 years ago. The book, A Note of Explanation was authored by Vita Sackville-West, best known as the lover of Virginia Woolf.

The Science of The Seduction of Miniatures

A pop-up exhibition from The Institute of Cute, a new organization dedicated to "creating art shows which educate and entertain" recently showcased in North Carolina. Follow them on Twitter for the latest developments on their programs.

Boys and Their Dollhouses

Boys do play with dollhouses, but not just any old dollhouses...these structures ain't no little girl playthings. We found examples of some very talented boys who do play with dollhouses....they just happen to be magnificent houses!

Gabriel Eden James

A relative newcomer to the world of miniatures, Gabriel Eden James from Luxury Miniature Real Estate creates bespoke structures with gothic-like detail using stunning aging techniques. One such structure contains a 24 carat gold leaf roof inspired by the decorative roof featured at the Palace of Versailles.

Laurent Seigle-Dias

Inspired by Paris and the City of Love where he resides, miniaturist and model-maker Laurent Seigle-Dias creates gorgeous, highly-detailed structures using his creative talents and experience working in the fashion design industry. More on Mr. Seigle-Dias and his work here.

Chris Toledo

Chris Toledo doesn't just build dollhouses...he creates incredible magic and illusion in one-twelfth scale. His period style structures are awesome examples of miniature perfection! Check out his Instagram account @IBuildSmallThings for more pictures of his work including behind-the-scenes images which show his creative process.

Wern Newydd
