Neo Victorian Miniatures

Patrick Jacob's diorama "Spiral" includes flowers made from thousands of tiny petals extending into the abyss in this piece for a new show "The Neo Victorians: Contemporary Artists Revive Gilded Age Glamour" which opens today at the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, New York.

Love is in the Air...

SquintBox is celebrating the month of love with a delightful stack of Valentine's Day cards (with envelopes!) tied with ribbon by Cassie Leigh. New subscribers have until February 15th to get in on the next SquintBox!

BadAss Miniatures: Artists Open Call

Intent to Submit is Due Today! for artists who wish to send in a submission/proposal for our new show BadAss Miniatures (if you need an extra day or so, let us know!). Mark your calendars: show opens Saturday May 5th!

Bit Size Bats

From Digital Arts: artist Ross Symons is creating one origami miniature each day for an entire year. So far he has made 72 sculptures with only 293 to go! For a daily ping of delight follow him on Instagram here.

NEW! Artisan Floor Plant

This highly detailed artisan (unsigned) floor plant in a decorative ceramic pot with an aged finish was just listed in our shop. Photo taken from our studio in Yonkers, New York.

Just for fun, here are six awesome behind the scenes shots from Tim Burton's 2005 animation film Corpse Bride. The movie received one Oscar nomination and stars Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter and features some really incredible miniatures!

We love the weathered red door with medieval hinges, the back wall with exposed stones and that hanging lantern!

Thrills, Chills and....Miniatures!

Hereditary, a new film starring Toni Collette and directed/written by Ari Aster is expected to terrify movie goers but delight miniatures enthusiasts as inch-scaled objects are a big part of the plot. Film open in June 2018.
