Private Collection: Estate Sale

This auction included a collection of more than 50 lots filled with fine art miniatures from a private collector in the mid west looking to find new homes for their treasures. The sale was hosted on the D. Thomas Miniatures eBay Store on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Here are just few of the awesome pieces included in the sale:

Welcome to my Fall 2024 estate sale & auction starting on Sunday, November 10 featuring the collection of Dr. David Sachar and his lovely wife Joanna from Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. The couple have been collecting together as a hobby for the past 30 years and are looking to downsize as they plan the next steps in their own personal journey.

The pair have worked together to build a lovely collection of dollhouse miniature treasures including fine art and high quality commercial furniture (Bespaq!), decorative objects, art dolls, tiny toys and much more!

The collection includes works by Roger Gutheil and Natasha Beshencovsky (furniture), Maureen Thomas (art dolls), Paul Saltarelli (paintings), Pete Acquisto (sterling silver), Kummerow (lighting) and others with more than 100 lots to shop featuring themed assortments, books, structures, toys and tiny treasures in 1/12 scale.

Mrs. Sachar enjoyed taking classes in miniature making and several pieces are offered in this sale crafted by her in workshops taught by iconic makers like Geoff Wannocott and Bluette Meloney.

Anne Day Smith Miniatures Auction & Sale

Auction starts Sunday, October 20 @7pm ET and Ends Sunday, October 27 @7pm ET

It's an honor to be ushering a portion of the extensive collection of miniatures belonging to Anne Day Smith (October 14, 1937 ~ October 31, 2018) to new homes. Anne was a beloved and treasured member of the miniatures community and worked tirelessly as author and reporter to tell the stories of the mini movers and shakers, the artists, the makers, the collectors and the enthusiasts in our little world.

Anne began writing about the hobby as early as the 1970s and published 4 books and wrote numerous articles for industry magazines and newspapers. Her contributions were plentiful; she served as chairman of NAME, the National Association of Miniature enthusiasts and Board Member of IGMA, the International Guild of Miniature Artisans to name a few. She traveled throughout the world, attended miniature shows, supported the artisans, took classes in miniature making and collected tiny treasures along the way!
