I am thrilled to host a special Meet the Miniaturist featuring winners from the annual HBS/Miniatures.com annual Creatin' Contest on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 4pm ET. Register now to join the livestream here.

For the last several decades, Miniatures.com has sponsored an annual contest to challenge makers everywhere to design and build a miniature structure starting only with a single kit. This year, makers started with 3 walls and a floor and the end results were astonishing!

This livestream will include interviews with several winners of this year's completion including Cathy Jones (pictured above) from Jones.4.art on Instagram who came away the Grand Prize for The Art Gallery, an awesome 2 story structure filled with small scale reproductions of full scale artwork on display made her family of artists including her daughter and mother!

We'll also get to chat with Gina Zetts, from Letties Dollhouse on Instagram who received Honorable Mention for Botanist’s Folly, an incredible 1/12 scale environment featuring tall leaded glass windows, an multiple drawer apothecary cabinet and shelves filled with jars, books and potions. Gina is a (full size) glass sculpture artist, educator and museum worker from Richmond California. If her name sounds familiar, you may remember we had Gina on last year for her previous Creatin' Contest win for the miniature glass shop she created!

Stand by for details on additional winning participants in this livestream to be announced later this week! I'm excited to be chatting with each of these winners, hear more about their backgrounds as miniaturists and to learn more about their winning work!

A big thank you to HBS/Miniatures.com for sponsoring this event. Miniatures.com is an Atlanta-based company that has been exciting and delighting makers and enthusiasts everywhere with hobby and building supples and materials since 1975! Their annual Creatin' Contest encourages makers from around the world to craft wonderful work!

I was thrilled to host a special Meet the Miniaturist featuring finalists from the new reality series BEST IN MINIATURE on CBC (Canada) and Discovery+ (UK). Photos: David Leyes)

Best in Miniature presents 11 talented miniatures in a race to build their ideal mini home in miniature! Finalist appearing on the livestream included Philip Nuveen, Susete Saraiva and Stephen Eddleston.

The show is hosted by Toronto based actress and writer Aba Amuquandoh, well-known for her stand up comedy skills and appearing on comedy stages like The Second City and Comedy Bar.

The judges on the show include interior design expert Micheal Lambie and miniaturist Emma Waddell.

I had an awesome chat with each finalists (and mini reality tv star!) about their miniatures, their experience on the show and heard about some of the challenges they faced when working against the clock for the win!

We even got to hear about some of the inside drama of being on a reality show while making miniatures!

A BIG little thanks to the finalists for appearing on the livestream!

This was super fun!!

If you miss any of my live broadcasts, you can always head to my YouTube channel and catch the replays!
