D. Thomas Miniatures is excited to offer its latest MiniVersity course: "Top Tools for Miniaturists" led by expert tool enthusiast Ann Pennypacker from AMiniThing who will lead a class about miniature tools!

After 20 years experience running a miniature tools business, and even longer taking classes in miniature making as a hobbyist, Ann knows a (mini) thing or two about tools!

Ann will share her top picks for tools every miniaturist maker needs and will answer the most asked questions she gets from her followers about those tools including how do you use a miter box and slant tip or curved tweezer and more... Ann will also demonstrate for students several tools and provide tips for best tools to use for specific projects. There will be a lot to cover but come with questions for an interactive student teacher segment!

This should be awesome!

ABOUT D. THOMAS MINIVERSITY

D. Thomas MiniVersity is now open for study and includes lectures, demonstrations, virtual field trips, independent study activities, class projects, classes on mini making, and more. Courses are facilitated by MiniProfessors and experts in each course field of study and students gain credits from class attendance with a certificate of completion at the end of the year!

D. Thomas MiniVersity is for hobbyists, makers, artists, collectors and all around miniatures enthusiasts to help mini students to learn and grow as members of the miniatures community. There is something to learn for students at all stages of their mini journey!

D. Thomas MiniVersity courses are mostly free with a cost at times, especially for artist-led miniature making classes which will include instructor and material fees.

The first D. Thomas MiniVersity course: "How to Spot a Really Great Miniature 101" livestream, held in February of this year, students learned what makes a truly terrific miniature. Participants were taught what materials to look out for, some of the techniques and skills required to make a good miniature and how to spot the difference between a commercially manufactured miniature and a truly one of a kind artisan piece. If you missed the class, no worries, it will be repeated again in the fall!

Information about upcoming classes will be announced via email blasts from D. Thomas Miniatures - sign up on the DThomasFineMiniatures.com website.
