Meet the Miniaturist: Judith Keessen

Meet the Miniaturist Judith Keessen from the Netherlands. Judith was inspired to become part of the miniatures world after planning to build her granddaughter a dollhouse. She quickly learned that the little one may a bit too young for one at the time and decided to build the dollhouse for herself! She then discovered the great big little world of tiny and has since been part of it while sharing her journey on her Instagram account MiniaturesByJudithKeessen

Ms. Keessen enjoys doll homes with large and stately rooms. The Ashcroft Hall is the third and largest doll house she has built which has two front opening doors that reveal more than a dozen rooms spanning four stories high. The Georgian style c1780 dollhouse is highlighted by a center hall with split staircases leading to the second floor which has an additional dramatic staircase!

In this podcast, we learn all about Judith and her passion for large scaled dollhouses and how she manages to put it all together - she's even taught herself how to 3D print miniatures!

Meet the Miniaturist: Gosia Suchodolska

Meet the Meet the Miniaturist Gosia Suchodolska from South Poland who crafts the most gorgeous flowers, cakes and foods in 1:12 scale!

Without formal art training, Gosia learned color theory and how to mix paints to create just the right shades at a very early age by her father, who was also an artist. Her attention to detail cannot be understated and her keen visions include amazing composition, perfect scaling and beautiful design.

In this podcast we learn what inspires Gosia most, some of the challenges she faces in the work that she creates and how so looks forward to bringing her love of being an educator into the world of miniatures!

Meet the Miniaturist: Carinne Gee

Meet the Miniaturist Carrine Gee from My Life in Miniature on Instagram. Originally from Alaska, and now living in Denver Colorado, Carinne started her journey into dollhousing after a career in the travel and tourism industry and once her 7 children started to grow up and she had a bit more time....

...she wanted to find something to do for herself and to prove that she could learn instead of "buy everything" and to figure things out on her own. She loves making dollhouse miniature furniture and building dollhouses with a contemporary style and design direction.

Carinne began posting her experiences on her Instagram account and now has a large and growing number of over 1 million followers, including several celebrities, as she inspires a whole new generation of hobbyists and engaging enthusiasts to join the miniature world with a “can do” attitude while dispelling the myth that dollhousing is way more than Victorian styling!


We got to chat with Carinne on this livestream, see some of her creations, talk about what she thinks is driving interest in this hobby while learning about how you can too "do it all" and enjoy a little escapism in this hobby!
