Meet the Miniaturist Morgen Bearse, a floral miniature artisan from Cap Cod, Massachusetts, who crafts some of the most beautiful flower arrangements in small scale (her sunflowers are amazing!).

After a notable career in the Washington D.C. area wedding and event industry (full size!), Bearse decided to turn to small scale creations while building on her extensive (self taught!) knowledge of design, decor and flowers!

In a recent episode of Meet the Miniaturist we learn more about Morgen and her background and evolution into the world of miniatures where she is quickly making her mark as a fine scale artist.

Bearse began making miniatures in 2005 and entered the Miniatures.com Creatin' Contest winning several prizes along with way.

Her lovely miniature flowers stand out as she works hard to create realism in her work.

She also shares some of favorite tools as well provides tips and tricks for achieving realism in tiny flower arrangements.

A BIG thank you to Morgen for sharing her story - you can follow Morgen on Instagram at www.instagram.com/morganbearse and learn more about her and her work at www.morgenb.com. She also is open to commission works and you can meet her at the upcoming Tom Bishop International Show in Chicago (www.bishopshow.com) where she will be a first time seller.

The latest D. Thomas MiniVersity course led by IGMA Artisan Julie Steiner from RidiculousTinyThings (Instagram) was just posted on YouTube. Julie is a micro scale knitting and crochet artist from Philadelphia who crafts some of the most awesome tiny scale works you've ever seen!

In this course, Julie presented “Downsizing Your Knitting: Tips and Tricks for Knitting in Small Scale” which helped answer the question: Do you want to take your knitting tiny?" She walked folks through her personal knitting journey and shared what she’s learned (and created!) along the way including tools and material sources, choosing patterns and final finishing tricks.

This course also addresses scaling and how to achieve a properly sized piece and is for all all skill levels including those who are familiar with working in full scale! You'll leave with terrific information and to help you move to knitting smaller!

This should be awesome!
