Tiny Doors of Dobbs Ferry!
You Found It...you discovered the world of tiny doors! Blink and you might miss it, since these doors won't be there for long! Be sure to post a pic to your social media account and hash tag #TinyDoorsofDobbsFerry for a chance to win your own tiny miniature surprise!

To celebrate the tiny door movement, several tiny doors have been placed along the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail, on a portion of the path located between Cedar Street and West Clinton Avenue (near the iconic Armour Steiner Octagon House) in Dobbs Ferry, New York.

The Old Croton Aqueduct Trail was built in 1837 and is largely responsible for the growth of New York City as it brought fresh water to where it was needed most to help combat disease and fight fires. As such, the trail is designated a state historic park and great place for tiny doors to be discovered.

The design of each door has been inspired by the environment surrounding the historic Hudson River Valley, specifically the River Towns in and around the area just north of New York City which incudes towns like Yonkers, Hastings, Dobbs Ferry and Tarrytown.
There are (6) tiny doors placed along the trail. You're encouraged to find each of them (map above may help!) and post as many photos as you can using the hashtag #TinyDoorsOfDobbsFerry on your social media channels.
To make things even more exciting, the sleuth who finds ALL 6 doors and posts using the hashtag #TinyDoorsOfDobbsFerry the most using the hash tags wins a delightful miniature! The more you post, the greater your chances of wining. One winner will randomly drawn mid-June!

The winner of the drawing will receive an assortment 5 tiny handmade wooden small scale bird houses. The birdhouses are all hand-painted and measure about 1" high (or smaller!). Some have real copper roofs and other crafted embellishments.
Here are the (6) Tiny Doors of Dobbs Ferry to find: Tiny Door Office, Stone Ventilator, Bitty Banned Book Drop, Small Scale Suburban Door, Tiny Bird Feeder and Kaleidoscope House!

Office hours aren’t always the most convenient, but you can always grab a map and check out the community notice board!
Aqueduct Stone Ventilator

A replica of it's full size companion, this miniature stone ventilator has a tiny wooden door to welcome in the water fairies that live along aqueduct.

This tiny door is a traditional type door you would find anywhere in Dobbs Ferry and includes a welcoming stone entranceway and the number "6" for the total number of doors in this series!

The Tiny Bird Feeder

This charming hobbit-style home welcomes song birds that visit the aqueduct like Cardinals, Goldfinches, and the Tufted Titmouse.
The Kaleidoscope House

Nestled on a stump near the iconic Armour Stiner Octagon House is a small Kaleidoscope Door. This interactive piece is an ode to the beautiful Victorian greenhouse located on the Octagon House property. Peer through the eyepiece to see revolving reflections of Maple seeds, lavender, and Dogwood.
